Stadhampton Parish Council would like to inform residents that we are aware of an incident that occurred recently on the wobbly bridge in the new play area.
Published: 24 April 2025
First and foremost, we are very sorry this happened, and we hope the child involved is recovering well.
Please be assured that we take all matters of safety seriously. We have been in contact with the play area contractor, who has confirmed that the equipment meets current safety regulations and standards.
However, as an extra precaution and in response to the incident, the contractor will be making the following improvements:
- Anti-slip tape will be applied to the surface of the bridge to reduce the risk of slipping.
- An additional horizontal rope will be installed across the existing vertical ropes to offer extra support and improve safety.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we work to ensure the play area remains a safe and enjoyable space for all.
